So as you guys know... because I'm very open about my life in my blog world... a lot of interesting things happen to me. I go through the regular college single life drama, heart breaks, colds and sometimes it gets even better. The time I crashed Jerry was pretty note-able, went to Costa Rica and even the face mask video. I can only hope that my bloody posts... or self-pity comments can all bring a little smile and light into everyone's day... because when I post these bizarre stories... it is solely for your entertainment.

Therefore I will tell you of my most current news.

I went to the doctor because of this sick thing on my back.

Next thing you know I'm calling my boss and taking a week vacation from people.

I, Lauren Elise Falter, have shingles.

What is shingles?

shin·gles [shing-guhlz] : a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus, especially byreactivated virus in an older person, characterized by skineruptions and pain along the course of involved sensory nerves.

Isn't shingles something old people get?

Yes... it is very rare that I even have it.

Is it contagious?

Yes, but the doctor just said steer clear from children for like 48 hours. People my age really aren't at risk... except for me APPARENTLY.

What can you do for it?

Nothing really. I'm taking anti-viral medicine hoping it goes away. Three times a day. So every night at 3 in the morning an alarm goes off and I have to take my medicine. #AWESOME.

How did you get it?

YOU TELL ME?!?!?! What the heck!

Does it hurt/itch?

Like a mother.

It's not everyday that your best friend stays by your side when you have a disgusting contagious disease. Love her! And all the other friends who haven't shunned me yet (so that's about one other person).
