Well, we made it. Our first flight was awesome, only fifty minutes. We had a two hour lay over after that. It got way boring so we started taking videos running on the treadmill like walkways (not sure what they're called), but that didn't last long (no matter how empty that area was, the airport didn't like that). We got some McDonalds parfaits and sat down by a group of about ten people who looked our age. That was entertaining, we became friends real fast and just laughed and talked until we boarded. They are going to do ministry, so we just bonded for a while. Then we got on the plane, row 7 middle and aisle seat. And sitting in the window seat was a stranger and now we are best buds. Within minutes us and Taylor had become bffs. He is going to Costa Rica to surf. I made the mistake of watching the movie Red Eye (scary movie) the week before I take a red eye flight, so I warned Taylor no funny business. The quote of the flight: "this one time on Red Eye." we passed napkin notes to his friend, slept leaning on each other and then parted ways for another adventure once we arrived. There was this nice man working on the flight, he was flirty with Kylee and me, in a non-creepy old man sorta way. But halfway through the flight he snuck us a meal to split and on the way back he's going to try and be on our flight. We took a picture in the cockpit with him and the pilot after. It's all about who ya know...
We were greeted with a sign holding our name. Our taxi driver Leo gave us folders with our host family and drove us to our home. It's the cutest lime greenish house. The woman who is our host mom is the cutest thing!! She's adorable just happy, older and hugged us. The only problem is he speaks absolutely no English. Really wishing I wouldn't of forgotten the Spanish-English dictionary right about now. We communicate in signs and the little Spanish Kylee and I know.
We went straight to bed once we got here. We share a room with two twin size beds. It's perfect.
I already drank the agua that I was counseled by many not to drink, but I was very thirsty. We shall see how that goes, luckily I packed two things of Imodium. (too much information? Sorry, can never be too safe).
Our host mom made us lunch and took us for a walk. We are catching on more easily to what she is saying and she's really good about explains things in ways we can understand.
Costa Rica is beautiful. Every little thing is so much to take in. I'm grateful we made it safe and our adventure is already off to a great start.
Woot! Woot! Oh so excited you are there safe and loving it already!! Love you! See you June 23rd... ;)
