My mom always did this thing where even if my story wasn't funny or interesting, she'd listen, respond, do a pity laugh of whatever... but she ALWAYS acted genuinely interested. My mom was the best for that. I guess that's part of being a mom!
I love to talk and listen, but when I tell my stupid stories, it was always good to have my mommy listening.
The guy I marry will be like my mom. I never want to feel stupid for anything I say. She always made me feel goofy if the story was a joke, feel reasonable about my anger if it was some terrible thing... she just always understood and gave the right response. I meet so many people the same way. That is the best thing EVER. I don't know why, it's the most random little trait about people... but it means a lot to me.
I appreciate her for that. And everyone else who does the same. :)
