Infant Puppy Massage

I love being a Certified Educator of Infant Massage. I love it because it's not about teaching classes and making money. It's about all of the knowledge that I gained from becoming a Infant Massage Instructor.

I love what I have learned about infants, bonding, parenting, love, sleep patterns, pregnancy and birth from the books and studies I have read. I love what I have learned from experience each time I teach a session or massage a baby myself.

Mainly I awe at the power the of touch.

The power of positive touch can affect:

self esteem
self image
emotional development
physical development
sleep & more

It's true for babies, it's true for two year olds, it's true for twelve year olds.
Loving touch is a small and simple way to make an outstanding difference.

I use the power of positive touch EVERY day as a two-year old teacher.
It's as simple as a hug when their mom leaves.
or holding their hand when they want you to play with them across the grass.

Touch in the early years is a powerful way to show love.
The lack of positive touch also has its consequences.

Today I was thinking about how much I love infant massage, and how important it is for each baby and child. Then I decided to try out some of what I know and love with my little puppy.

I didn't use all the same strokes or do the oil down, sing-song routine, but I adapted what I know to my puppy. Just as a mother would adapt the routine for a rowdy toddler. Infant massage isn't just for babies, it should just start there.

He gnawed on his brush and stayed still the whole time while I did all his legs, belly, back and face.

Touch shows love.

That's why I do what I do.
