WARNING:
The post is graphic (pictures of my arm) and cynical,
please bear with me as I explain my afternoon.
I got road rash on my scooter last thursday, right? right.
Through the course of the week, I wrapped dry gauze on it and tore half the scab off. I played volleyball with it twice and swam in the pool. Soaking it in the hot tub was equal to stabbing it with seven needles and the last two mornings, I have woken up bloody.
Just when I thought the pain couldn't get any worse, I decided to ask a doctors opinion today.
My first mistake? asking the opinion of a doctor.
The doctors orders were to "go home, soak in a bath and scrub the scabs off."
Well I haven't taken a bath since I learned how to shave my legs standing up... and I really wasn't sure how I felt about "scrubbing" my scabs off, but I was a good patient and followed the doctor's orders.
I baked some cookies, got my nook app out and prepared a lovely bath.
I texted a few people, checked my facebook and just let all my wounds soak and soak.
Now, here's the thing. I can't decide if I didn't soak long enough... or if the doctor wanted to put my through hell in my own bathtub.... But let me tell you... THAT WAS THE WORST PAIN OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.
Are you kidding me doc?
I was wincing, panting, half crying... in my bathtub screaming...
... by myself...
The neighbors, roommates...
everybody is thinking stuff right now.
AND
In the meantime, I'm basically crying in a tub of my own scabs!
First off, that is DISGUSTING!!!
Second, I look like an animals just came and gnawed on me...
This is motivation to learn how to drive Jerry before I EVER crash again.
Thank you for reading, if you have any gauze and anti stick pads let me know!
If you need me, I will probably be at Walmart preparing myself a first aid kit,
or passed out on my ground from pain.
On the PLUS side.
I just wanna give a shout out to the people who made my day.
1. The Bear River Health Department
I was able to get my Typhoid "shot" for Costa Rica ORALLY.
2. Kyle, Jeff and TJ
I went to class for the first time since Spring break and I just love these guys.
3. Bill for going to the temple with me.
The temple is beautiful and what a great person to go with!
Ummm...OUCH! I have plenty of nonstick stuff from Owen's burns. Seriously,I can bandage like no body's business!!
