Favorite Day Of The Year

In honor of my favorite day of the year.
I dedicate this blog to Valentine's Day.

I lovelovelovelovelovelove LOVE.
I love reading wedding blogs.
I love watching love stories.
I love watching couples.
I love seeing love shared in different ways.
I love hearing proposal stories.
I love seeing kisses, hand holding and smiles.
Love is in the air.
It's everywhere.

I love that when your heart is happy,
life can just be romantic in every way.
Suddenly everything becomes a reason to smile.
Snow, raindrops, sunshine are all enchanting.
In the morning you look forward to getting up.
At night your prayers are full of thanks.
There's nothing better than just being with that person,
even if you're doing absolutely nothing.

I could just watch couples in love for days!
And what a day this is to get to celebrate just that.

Last year I was single on Valentine's Day...
with an engaged twin
and I still had an amazing time.

It's not about who you're with...
it's about your attitude.

And that's what I've learned.
It's not about who's getting these little gifts.
It's about expressing to the people you love,
that you love them.
Taking time from work, class and life...
to really celebrate the core of relationships... love.
And the presents associated are an added bonus.

I woke up at 6:30 today and my cute boyfriend already gave me a reason to smile. He woke up early, earlier than me... and far earlier than he had to. And he made cinnamon rolls so they would be warm and ready for me right when I woke up. He showed up in my house before 7AM with a dozen roses, cinnamon rolls and a box of chocolates. He's amazing!!!

:)

There are people I love that I tell all the time.
When I visit home, I visit them.
When I call home, I say "I love you, bye."
But on days like today, I take the time to make that love a little more personal.

Instead of a quick update on my life or call inquiring information...
this time I called home just to say Happy Valentines Day.
I called home just to say I love you.
I called my grandparents to say I love you.
I called Kylee just to talk to her.

The argument is always made that everyday you should love your spouse or whoever.
Well everyday you should...
Today, that's ALL it's for!!!
So please, enjoy this day of love.

Even at work with my young preschooler, my heart was happy.
I said "who loves you?" And she said "Lauren loves me."

Love is all around.

  1. Lauren, I freaking love you!!! Happy Valentine's Day. Also...I think that everything you wrote is so true. I'm going to take your challenge and try to personalize today a little more than I normally would. You're a doll!
