This was the longest week of work I've ever worked in my life. It was fifty hours on the clock and even when I was off the clock the phone was ringing and I was thinking about what needed to be done.........
I know it was a lot of time, stress, problem solving... and also a lot of golf cart cruisin'
This week was my first camp with Robbie (my boss) of the summer. EFY and American Red Cross Leadership Development Camp. EFY is great, low maintenance and have some great staff and kids, but American Red Cross, they are who I spent my time with.
They are AMAZING people. I'm not even in their camp and I felt like crying when they left. They walked right in and out of my life in a week and who knows who I'll see again... but everything worked out and everything was just wonderful. I got some love letters and dates, I got some drive-by popsicles, Aggie ice cream and incredible co-workers, but most importantly I made people's stay at Utah State just as it should be... fabulous!!! And in turn they all made my day, they all became my friends and they made my summer and my job twenty times more than it was last week. And last week I thought I had a freaking good job.
I mean I got a group thank you hug from 80 people at the same time... I made a handful of new friends and I got paid to do it. I basically just get paid to have my day made, get paid to smile, get paid to feel happy... cuz my job feels like it's rewarding me most in that way. Does life rock? Absolutely-- just count those blessings.
Also can I just say I couldn't be this busy and this happy without my best friend Kylee Geisler. She's always ready to be with me when I'm done working, she'll bring me dinner, she'll drive up my keys, she'll go on dates with me, she'll brainstorm with me... I really love her more than friendship flowers and under the door cookies can explain!!! :)
Summerfest was rocking. I love Logan, UT. And it's wonderful people. Dancing with old people and hippies is the best way to spend a friday night with my favorite Jason Russell, Kylee, Jackson and Chase. I'm dead tired and feel completely sick and exhausted. It's eleven on a friday night and I'm ready to hit the hay. It's been one heck of a week and I wouldn't change a thing.
Hey Lauren! I know we don't really talk that much, and we don't know each other at all, but I just want to say thanks for always saying hi to me! And I'm so sorry about not being able to talk to you longer at SOAR today. It just got so crazy. I hope you don't think I was purposefully being rude, because I wasn't! I'm very sorry, but it was good to see you, and I'm glad you're having a fun time working! Happy summer :) Hope to see you some more!
