Survival of the Finals

You know that feeling the last day of each elementary school year? Each last period of middle school or high school? It's the rush to get your yearbook signed, pressure to say goodbye to everyone you know... the bittersweet feeling of the last time that bell rings for months. Or think back to the last day of senior year... The big hooray, the surreal feeling of growing-up, parting from everything you've always had... The Vitamin C Graduation Song just on replay in your head....

And then you go off to college.
You don't have to count down to every weekend because every day is a blast.
You don't have to take classes every hour, everyday...
There are no bells.
You take classes YOU sign up for.
And you're there because you wanna be.

That feeling before summer vacation, that anxiety of losing friends over the summer, getting all the phone numbers you need... in college it's gone.

Utah state isn't just a fall/spring/summer semester class offerer; once an Aggie always an Aggie. It's not about the Stats class one semester and Psychology course the next. It's way more than an education (a great education), but much more... it's a whole new family, a whole new life... friends and memories you'll have FOREVER.

Finals week crept up on me once again and this time the finals season it's a bigger deal than last. My life has a couple seasons that are highly significant.

1. Holiday Season: "Tis the season to be jolly..."
Surviving this season means ugly sweaters, lots of hugs, shopping, baking and you actually LIKE seeing snow fall.

2. Finals Season: "Study hard, play harder"

You would be surprised at the amounts of facebook statuses that I've read that say,

...or a variation of that same line up to a month before finals! Let's just say, I "liked" this status. Motivation has gone down, but just like not gaining more than five pounds is a battle during holiday season, making it through finals is a fight I'm going to win.

You sleep, you read, you study... but how do you survive finals???

Step One: Eat

This is my first ever Scotsman (you can get them at the Quickstop for like two bucks). Anyway, it's like a cheeseburger in hot dog form... the concept is disgusting, but try it!!! It's actually very good.

Take snacks to class... (The ONLY way to stay awake).

Just eat your worries away. I ate dinner on my way to a buffet... it's gotten quite ridiculous. (That was actually due to miscommunication, but I don't regret my double dinner). My motto is: If you haven't gained your freshmen-15 yet, you have finals week to get there.

Step Two: Partaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

There's NEVER a dull moment in Logan, Utah if you know how to play your cards right. Snow doesn't even stop us from partying all night long in the street.

We had a pre-pre-party, a pre-party, a party, an after-party and even an after-after party! Don't think, just dance!!!

Finals are the pits, but there is a way to survive. And by Thursday, I'll tell you if that way works. All I know is, this was the best year of my life. It had some of the hardest times and some of the craziest times, but it's all part of growing up. I couldn't of chosen a better school for myself. I'm now a true-blooded Aggie from Utah...

I love Cache Valley.
I love Logan.
I love the friends I've made.
I love the professors and classes I've had.
Sometimes I'll even admit to loving the snow!!!
This place is AMAZING.
I love Utah State!
