Beautiful Inside

Sundays remind me that it's not about your outfit, hair style, weight... it only matters that you are beautiful inside. And to Him, you always are.

I am one to talk... I wanted to stuff my morph suit so I didn't look to fat and in no way could be mistake for a guy... I spend so much time changing my outfits and trying to make myself look "pretty." I think we are all self conscious about something.

Then I remember: Why are we here? Where are we going?

Life is a test. We are living, sinning, repenting, forgiving, praying, changing, living to get back to live with Him again.  So why do looks matter, why does weight matter, why does how many friends we have, why does it matter if we are "cool" enough to party or swear or watch the latest episode of Modern Family? It doesn't. And don't get me wrong, it's important to look nice. It's important to get dressed, do your hair, brush your teeth, it's okay to watch tv and be caught up with the news, but how we look and how we fit in with the crowd is not what the focus of our lives should be.

I know who I'm supposed to be. And every day, it's my job to wake up and be her. Serve, love, laugh, cry, listen... and stand firm to anyone who makes me less of that person.

Along with that, our Savior loves us. Whether we are not worthy of a temple recommend, in jail, daily repenters or the General Relief Society President, He loves us. He knows us. He wants us to be happy. And we are beautiful inside.

Walk Tall You're A Daughter Of God
(Boys, insert son, you're just as important)

"Right now I have a prayer deep within my heart,
A prayer for each of you there is a special part.
That you remember who you are and Him who lives above.
Please seek for Him and live his way; You'll feel His love."

Verbs: words indicating an action or doing things. SEEK for him, LIVE his way, REMEMBER who you are and REMEMBER him.

"Long before the time you can remember,
Our Father held you in his arms so tender.
Those loving arms released you as he sent you down to earth.
He said, 'My child, I love you. Don't forget your great worth.'"

We all have individual worth. He released us each from Heaven and knew us before this life, no relying on our faith we must remember that He sent us down for a purpose... and we are all of worth to him.

"This life on earth we knew would not be easy.
At times we lose our way his path we may not see.
But remember always that you are not alone.
He'll take your hand, He loves you! He will guide you home."

Sometimes we lose are way. Sometimes we fight, argue, people pass away, people commit crimes, people say things that hurt you or do things that betray you... we know life has it's challenges, but we are never alone and He will guide us home.

Walk tall, you're a daughter, a child of God,
Be strong and remember who you are,
Try to understand, you're part of his great plan.
He's closer than you know, Reach up; He'll take your hand"

Don't settle for anything less than what is right. Listen to your heart, pray and no that Jesus Christ lives and loves us all. That we need to be strong, remember that we are each important and that there is purpose in our lives. He will bring us home, if we let him into our lives.

Don't settle for boys who treat you bad. (or girls). (The next part is influenced by a sacrament talk by Taylor from months and months ago) Sometimes you look at couples and think, how could I be loved like that? How could someone accept me for all my flaws and short-comings? Why would someone want to know me like that? You know what, we already are loved like that! Christ already gave us the ultimate "AW moment" ... we are already worthy of that love. Kick the rotten tomatoes the the curb, it's gotta be a patient wait and hunt for the ripe ones.

Don't settle for second best. Life's not a race, we all have potential to "win." To make it back to our Heavenly Father and Celestial glory.

"Love the life you live,
Live the life you love."
