Life of the engaged

I had someone say to me.
"Hi engaged girl!!! I just love seeing you now, because you always have this big smile on your face"
Another one said. "She just looks happy, genuinely happy."
I AM. I AM SO GENUINELY HAPPY.

Life is Amazing

Lately, I have been going to the first couple weeks of classes. The classes where you go around and say, "I'm Lauren, I have a child development and family community services emphasis, I work in an infant and toddler room on campus and I am getting married in May!!!!" Normally I just say the blah blah stuff and add some more blah blah... like I am from Washington or I hit a bear with my car or I love my job.

Now... I can say the most exciting news of my life... and I am not alone in that, that's what's so fun! In one of my classes, three of us (out of ten) had just gotten engaged. I was one of the three. This is ACTUALLY happening. We are all at this exciting time of our lives and can talk about it and relate to each other and just be SO excited with live.

When I least expected it, I met the man of my dreams. And now I am in love and so happy... and planning our wedding!!!! OH MY GOODNESS, isn't life just amazing!

Faith in God is having faith in His timing.

I can absolutely testify that God answers our prayers, that He knows what we need and if we have faith in His timing, everything will work out. I was given major trials while I was dating PJ, which allowed me to realize that he will stick with me through everything... which in turn lessened my anxiety. My sicknesses and panics were blessings in disguise, which have given us a deeper love, trust and appreciation in each other from the beginning.

I was given trials before I met PJ to help me prepare to be in a lasting relationship, to help me prepare to start a family, to help me prepare for the jobs and experiences that I will have.

The Lord knows exactly what we need and when we need it... and I am so blessed, even in my trails! I know life won't get easier from this point on, but it will get better, because I get to grow old with a man I am absolutely in love with!

Wedding Planning

Now that I have gotten the major details out of the way, the wedding planning becomes fun!

Theme: Vintage & Rustic
Details: pictures, frames lace, burlap, pearls, vases, dried roses, doileys, lamps, vintage dressers, suitcases, veils, dresses
I have my dress.
I have the logistics of both receptions planned.
I ordered my veil.
I will soon be making 16 bowties......
Planning a wedding is so much fun.

Shout-outs

Some days I have been beyond overwhelmed with wedding planning. The stress of different perspectives of how it should be, pleasing everyone, too many things to take on by myself.

Mr. Jared Pace
But that's when I am reminded that I am marrying the perfect guy for me. He has taken loads off. When I feel lonely in the process, with my mom so far away and no one stepping up to do the exciting things you do... he has offered to take me himself. He has offered to take me to Salt Lake and Ogden, to drop me off at wedding dress stores and wait in the car. He has taken me to some of these places. He has taken things off my list. He has supported every single one of my ideas and calmed me down when things just aren't working out. I seriously have a keeper! And I am so very grateful for him.

Mrs. Kylee Maughan & Brody
Before I get too carried away saying no one has stepped up to do the exciting things with me, I have to mention my AMAZING sister. She has a child. She has things to do. And she has gone wedding dress shopping with me four different times. She has helped me focus on the little details. She is our photographer. She comes over. She answers me 100,000 phone calls. She lets me talk to her about my wedding day after day after day. And she has been such a huge part of this process for me, that makes me remember that no matter how many people come in and out of my life... I will always have my twin sister to be my very best friend of all. The girl I wore diapers with, the girl I took baths with, the girl I learned how to ride a bike with, the girl who has literally been there for every important moment of my life, even when I wasn't the greatest at being there for hers. She is my best friend. And I am so grateful to have her in my life.

Fat Brody has also been there four times with wedding dress shopping (can't forget my favorite little nephew).

My beautiful Mother
My mother. I know it's hard for her to be away from her girls during these big parts of life. But she has been such a support to me from afar. She supports my ideas, she helps me make things happen. And I am so blessed to have such an amazing mother.

Marci and Barbi and Lys are also great helps, even if it's just a pinterest board, text, volunteering their entire house decor or offering help. I sure love my family.

Oh, happy day.
Can't wait til May 10th.
