There are so many differences between the states and Costa Rica. And as I sit on this bus riding back from the best beach trip of my life, I have noticed a few big ones. Our bus driver showed up a little earlier and we spotted him right away, drinking at the bar outside of our hostel. Alright, cool man. We loaded up the bus quickly before he had any time to keep drinking and slowly started making our way back. After by some miracle I fell asleep with the worst shifting of gears known to man, I was abruptly awoken to the motion of the bus stopping. I guess our driver drank too much at that bar, cuz he then proceeded to the side of the van to pee... The bus driver was peeing in front of all of us, what the??? Well we were off again and I bet one hundred cars passed us or more.
We talked about him in English half the bus ride and since it was twice as long as it should be, that was our source of entertainment. Ben thinks he's either blind or traumatized by lights. Kylee and I said our goodbyes mid-drive. This bus was quite the ride.
But hey, pura vida, we're still alive and happy.
This weekend I took the most amazing and beautiful trip of my life. We went to Manuel Antonio.
We went with eight friends.
Stayed in a cheap dirty backpackers hostel.
Walked the pitch back beach in a lightning storm.
About dyed of over-heating the first night.
Brushed my teeth with the water, got sick.
Pillow talk on bunk beds.
Slept with Kylee.
She's such a good best friend!!
Woke up safe and healthy.
Went to the national park.
Saw the most beautiful beach in the world.
Swam in warm waves all day.
Saw monkeys eating bananas.
Got stung by a jelly fish, with Kylee.
Saw sloths, snakes, raccoons, iguanas, crabs and fish.
Wandered the town.
Watched the sunset.
Dinner with friends.
Woke up early, stayed up late.
Stole a fan.
Rode through the most scenic rainforest.
Then zip lined through it, upside down.
Repelled and swung on a Tarzan swing.
Got Costa Rican boyfriends.
Went through a butterfly garden and saw snakes.
Made friends with honeymooners and anniversary couples.
Had a big lunch.
Then swam in the big waves.
I fell in love with Costa Rica even more.
Laying on the beach yesterday, I saw the clear water and wasn't worrying about a care in the world, I turned to Kylee and Ben and said, I imagine that heaven will feel kind of like this. It was an amazing place!
God created so much beauty all of the world, and Costa Rica is definitely one of those places. I am blessed to have seen it!!
It is so fun to have you described the exact places we were a couple of years ago. I agree...definitely heaven!! Love you babe...see you in a week!

Man, I love that part of the world and can't wait to go back!! I haven't read all your blog yet, have you zip lined??? YOU MUST DO THAT before leaving that country!! Enjoy the rest of your trip. I wish I could send you to Santa Ana to hug all our missed friends. They would love you and you would love them! So happy you are loving it there! I know you too will be back!
