Life Lessons From Ice Water

This was our adventure.

On our lovely night of caroling, Brianna and I looked at the empty night ahead of us as a night of possibilities. And one thing caught out attention, a plan that hadn't been done before.

We were going to go from fast food place to fast food place requesting ice waters.

Call it a test, call it entertainment. I call it a life lesson.

"Is that all?" is the question we heard over and over again as we maneuvered through Lacey.

We experienced learning what boyfriends shouldn't do first hand, which include flirting with drive thru women in front of their girlfriend or even worse introducing their girlfriend, "hi, this is my girlfriend Brianna, I'd like you to meet her..." NO.

We learned you shouldn't ever trust Wendy's pathetic little yellow cylinder they call a water cup, a. it spills, b. pretty sure they spit in it. Also, we learned Chris of the Hawks Praire McDonalds needs to read up on his rules, turns out he's being too cautious.

We learned the best water in town: Taco Bell. Bigger does mean better in this case.
The friendliest people in fast food at McDonalds by Thurston & also Taco Bell.

We learned who we should be as people.
Should we be the mean people who spit in water?
Should we be nice people who smile and give you the water?
Should we be the happy people who laugh?
Should we be the bitter people who glare?

Let me ask a couple questions regarding the water first.
If someone comes through your drive thru and orders a million things, do you get a raise for extra work? no.
If someone comes through your drive thru and asks for a water, does the lack of business come out of your hourly wage? no.

So why does it even matter? It doesn't. And that is the lesson we learned. Some people are so bitter and grumpy that the most backwards things can get them down. They really should be very happy we just ordered water, but instead some are very upset. Life lesson? Lighten up. When you get in a stressful or annoying situation, take a step back and ask yourself... is this really worth a frown?

It's probably not.

Be the person to laugh and the innocent fun. Be the person to smile at strangers and make people's day. Don't be the grinch of your own day.

Bonus Caroling Pictures :)
